Visit with us the golden capital of the Czech Republic - Prague, which is said to be the most beautiful one in Europe. Prague is a city of hundreds of towers and in the glow of the late afternoon sun, its many buildings are embraced by a golden glow. Prague is a labyrinth of winding roads, alleys, courtyards and passages - let's discover them together!
DAY 1: Brežice - Maribor - MP Šentilj - night drive through Austria - České Budějovice - Prague
We set off around 24.00. Followed by a night drive across Austria to our first morning stop České Budějovice, the center of southern Bohemia. We will take a look at the old town with the mighty Ototkar III Square. We will be greeted by a number of burgher houses with a Renaissance Baroque façade, a magistrate, a cathedral, a black tower and Samson’s Fountain. Afterwards we will have some free time.
The path takes us further towards the capital of the Czech Republic - Prague. We will first visit the famous Staropramen brewery, where we will learn about the long tradition of brewing beer, which is already drunk in 38 countries around the world. Beer tasting and a hot snack are also waiting for us. A panoramic drive through the city follows. We will be able to admire many cultural and historical sights and architecturally perfect buildings: Višegrad, Wenceslas Square,… We will walk through the old town square - Staroměstské náměstí, whose history dates back to the 11th century. We will be able to admire the intertwining of art and culture, and see how the past and the present go hand in hand in this historic square - we will definitely not miss the famous astronomical clock (Pražský orloj), which is one of the oldest and most complex clocks ever made. We will also visit the old university, the Jewish quarter, the famous Charles Bridge built in the 13th century, which spans the Vltava River, the monument to Jan Hus, and the Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí), where the city's pulse is strongest. Afterwards we will have some free time for independent tours.
Followed by a drive to the hotel, where we will refresh ourselves and go to dinner in the famous medieval pub, where we will be served local delicacies. Because of the special atmosphere and the rich medieval program you will be able to feel the history and the richness of Prague. We will be entertained by brave swordsmen, amazing jugglers and belly dancers. We will end our first day of the journey by an overnight stay in a 4 * hotel.
DAY 2: Departure Prague - Český Krumlov - drive across Austria - MP Šentilj - Maribor - Brežice
After breakfast we will leave Prague and set off on a stroll through the picturesque medieval town of Český Krumlov with its perfectly preserved UNESCO-protected castle. We will take a look at the exterior of Krumlov Castle, the entrance to which is guarded by bears. The castle has changed its appearance several times over the centuries (the oldest record from the 13th century). Today it is a mighty Renaissance building with many courtyards and rich Baroque and Rococo furnishings. For extra charge you will be able to ascent to the castle tower. Afterwards we will walk through the historic city center and have some free time for independent tours and lunch (extra charge).
We will return home the late evening.
