Join us on our spring wanderings through the southern part of Germany, where we will visit the "beer" capital of the Bavarian state of Munich, go on a hike to the second largest city in the state of Baden - Württemberg, Mannheim and discover the Renaissance city of Heidelberg.
DAY 1: Brežice - Novo mesto - Ljubljana - Munich - Mannheim
Departure in the early morning hours from Brežice at 00:30 and from Novo mesto at 01:10 (possibility of departures also from Trebnje, Grosuplje and Ljubljana). Night drive through Slovenia and Austria with short stops in between to the capital of Bavaria - Munich. A panoramic drive through the city follows. We will continue with a short tour around the city center and visit some of the historic monumnets, which will be rounded off with lunch and a mug of beer in a world-famous pub in the city center with almost 500 years of tradition. After a great lunch, we will say goodbye to the capital of Bavaria and continue our free journey to our final destination Mannheim, followed by dinner and overnight at the hotel ****.
DAY 2: Mannheim
After breakfast at the hotel, the bus will take us on a panoramic ride around Manheim. Afterwards we will visit of one of the largest and most successful breweries in the state of Baden-Württemberg, which is also one of the oldest companies in Mannheim and also one of the most modern. They produce more than 16 different types of beer. They will take us through their production and introduce us to the complex process of beer production. After the tour, we treat ourselves to lunch in this 355-year-old brewery, which we rinse with a mug or two of beer. After lunch we will have some free time for independent sightseeing and shopping. Followed by dinner in a nearby town known for its wine, where we will try local delicacies in attractive restaurants in the form of a wine barrel. Overnight at hotel **** in Mannheim.
DAY 3: Mannheim - Heidelberg - Ljubljana - Novo mesto - Brežice
After breakfast at the hotel, we will first head to the nearby town Heidelberg, where we will walk through the old city centre. Heidelberg is also known as a university town, as the university was founded here as early as the 14th century. The city is also enriched by the hustle and bustle of the main street, which is considered to be the longest traffic-free street in Europe (pedestrian zone). After visiting the old part of the city, we will take the cable car up to the Renaissance castle of Heidelberg, which enchants with its red image, as it was built of red sandstone coming from the river Neckar - the river that flows through the city of Heidelberg. We will have some free time for independent exploration of the castle courtyard and the Museum of German Pharmacy.
After the visit of the castle, we will board the bus and drive on the way home with intermediate stops and a lunch stop.
