Visit Sevnica!
The path leads us through the picturesque landscape of the Posavje to the birthplace of the former first lady of the United States - Melania Trump. After arriving in Sevnica, we will first listen to the story of Melania's birthplace and discover where the American first lady spent her youth. We will walk to the confectionery Julija, where we will treat ourselves to the world-famous cake "Melania".
After wandering through Sevnica, we will ascend to the mighty Sevnica castle, the construction of which dates back to the beginning of the 14th century. This is one of the most beautiful castles in Slovenia. We will walk through a beautiful castle forest, which is a protected natural value, all the way to the top of the hill, where we will be enchanted by the view over the castle vineyard. On the carefully arranged terraces of the castle slope, 500 vines of blue frankincense grow from which they produce the so-called "castle blood". We will then enter through the castle gates into a beautiful Renaissance courtyard with a fountain surrounded by two-story arcades. A guided tour of the inside of the castle follows. We will also stop at the castle wine shop, where we will taste several types of wine with a snack. On the way out of the castle, we will stop at the castle shop, where we will be able to see a variety of products and products under the brand "First Lady", such as blue frankincense, meat products, chocolates, creams, unique cups, pralines and more.
We board the bus again, which takes us to a nearby restaurant, where we treat ourselves to a late lunch. Followed by a return back to Brežice. Arrival home is scheduled in the late afternoon.
