Not far from Brežice rises a small but very nice hill. These are Artiče, known mainly for fruit growing and delicious apples, as well as hard-working and friendly people.
Our panoramic bus will take us to a small town Artiče, from where we will walk to an idyllic homestead that will take us far back in time. Old customs, preserved infrastructure and a pleasant ambience will conjure up the times of our grandparents. After sightseeing and chatting, we will head towards Sromlje, where we will see exemplary villages along the way. In Sromlje we take some time to get to know the place and its customs.
We will continue our way towards Pišece, where we will first stop at Pišece Castle and see the beautiful Sequoia Park. The beautiful nature, intertwined with the cultural heritage, will not leave us indifferent. After a short stop, we will go to the homestead, which in Pišece gives a great stamp to culture. Here we will admire the birth house of Maks Pleteršnik and the museum of collection of the life and work of Maks Pleteršnik. Afterwards we will visit the authentic Velban cellar with the wine museum. We will walk to the vineyard cottage, from where in nice weather there is a beautiful view of the surrounding Piše-Bizeljsko hills with the Brežice field all the way to Gorjanci, Medvednica or Sljeme and further along the extensive part of the Croatian Zagorje. It would be a sin not to taste a local specialty in these places, which is a sparkling wine with the taste of apricots. With great taste in our mouths and rich new experiences, we will return home.
