Brežice and its surrounfings have been inhabited since prehistoric times and therefore they are hiding many secrets and stories that have not yet been told. Our path will lead us through the old town, where you will discover the history and secrets of some of the oldest buildings. Castle stables and granary, the old pharmacy, a German national and shelter, the German House and the Franciscan Monastery are just some of the most interesting historical buildings that are worth your visit. We will not remain indifferent even at the sight of the House of the Del Cott family, which represents one of the most beautiful historical houses in Brežice.
Above the town rises the majestic Water tower, which is also in the city emblem and the only example from its time in Slovenia. A cup of coffee in the cafe of the tower should not be missed. We will take a walk along the remnants of the defensive wall and enjoy the best scoop of ice cream in town. Followed by an outdoor view of the German houses, the current seat of the county court, and a tour of the renovated rooms in the building of old Brežice prisons, where we will be strengthened with real prison meal and a prison drink. A walk around the city will be completed with a visit to the beautiful Brežice Castle and the old bridge across the river Krka and Sava.
