In the picturesque region between hills Gorjanci and Bohor the present interweaves with the heritage of past centuries. This is the world in miniature, where the Sava Valley extends in the field of Krško ... there is Krško.


 

An attractive panoramic tourist bus will take us on a tour of the geographical center of Posavje in all its comfort. Along the way, we will not miss the secrets of Krško Plain with its carefully cultivated fields and meadows. Our first stop will be where the history of these places began - Drnovo, which offers us the remains of a river port and the Roman "new town", as the inhabitants of the time called it. We will continue our journey through the new part of the city, past the Matija Gubec Stadium along the Sava River to the old town center. Some of the most important personalities of Slovenian history and culture had their home in Krško.

We will visit the Mencinger House, the Valvasor complex, the Capuchin monastery and the library. Than we will walk to the city park and greet the statues of the grammarians Bohorič and Dalmatin. On the left bank of the Sava, we will welcome the statue of the leader of the peasant uprisings, Matija Gubec. Afterwards we will visit the memorial park of Jurij Dalmatin, the author of the Bible translation into slovenian language.

From the city center, the path will lead us to an idyllic location in Sremič, from where we will have a beautiful view over the entire city and its surroundings. While tasting local wines and delicacies, we will get to know the culinary specialties of these places. Full of pleasant impressions, we will take a ride back  to the starting point.
